    How Retrievie Account History
    USA Financial Institutions:
How far back and how do you request past transactions history for a Bank account, or individual? Are all Banks required to keep and make available past records/statements for say 5 years or longer? I believe Check(s) records must be kept for ten years, but with computers they must also have summary of all transactions for an account, or person, for much longer.

I need at least past Three Years history of account transactions, any difficulty in requesting the Bank to retrieve it as summary printout. Some nominal fee is expected for Bank employee's effort and paper-printout.

You know you'll have to pay to have this information retrieved? How far back do you need to inquire? The rates for research and retrieval are usually in the $30 an hour range.

I was asking how long (Years?) Banks maintain history of account transactions, and how to request the Bank to retrieve it as summary printout. Seems obvious that it is computerized data and so no "research" is needed. Some nominal fee is expected for Bank employee's effort and paper-printout.

Is this your bank account or someone else's account? If it is your account, all you have to do is go into your nearest branch and fill out the paperwork and pay their retrieval fee. And no, contrary to what you think that everything is computerized and it won't cost you very much, you will be surprised at just what it does cost you once they present their bill for this.
