How can someone get my bank records?
A private investigator, for the company I am a contractor for,. Is alleging that I have been stealing money from them... According to my bank account records for the past six years.

I was asked to a company meeting supposedly to only be asked a few questions and when I got in the room, I was introduced to the investigator and one company witness and they told me they had a few questions for me and that it was going to all be recorded!!

And also I was totally shocked to find out that the private investigator had all of my bank account checking and savings statements of checks and deposits for the past six years in his hands!!

I was shocked and want to know how he got them. Well, I was so overcome that I did not think to ask him how he came to have them but I now turn to you helpful people to get some ideas on how he might have done it.

I already have called my bank and they let me talk to their lawyers and they checked it all out and there were no warrants or supenas filed and there were none of my account records given to anyone in an official capacity, so how did this private investigator get my records??

This private investigator told me he was either a retired osbi agent or from the corporation commission, I was so flustered that I can't remember now which one it was. Can someone please maybe help me until I can talk to a lawyer for help?? Thank you!

if you signed any type of employment agreement, all of them I have ever seen allows for them to do background searches that include all types of checks, So look at all the paper work you ever signed, I would bet there is a very vague permission there.

But also, many records can be gotten by PI though varoius sourses they have. Do you allow direct deposits

Ok, here's the thing. Unless the PI had a release he probably obtained those records illegally. Which means they cannot be used against you in a court of law. Nor can they be used to get a legal subpoena unless there is collateral evidence that justifies a warrant.

    Are you being charged?

They told me that I owed them BACK $100,000.00 and that if I paid them back $25,000.00 that it would all go away! Isn't that extortion?

I haven't been charged yet but they are threatening to have me arrested and charged unless I pay them back $25,000.00.!

So, did you take the money? If not, then tell them so. Tell them you aren't going to pay anything since you have done nothing wrong. If they do pursue criminal charges you will sue for defamation.
