I have a hand-tinted aquatint labeled No. 1 and signed by Paul Emile Lecomte.
I acquired the print in 1963 and on the backing paper was a label that stated it had been shown in the Louvre. Is that possible? Since I submitted this question I have found another Lecomte etching, the same view as mine but it's a scene with boats and no snow but rendered from the same perspective, same trees, etc. How can I find more information about them: titles, dates, location, etc.

I too would like to know if a genuine hand signed (in pencil) P.E. Lacomte etching called.. "Dans la Vallee" (also written in pencil)could be worth something? From the Paris Etching Society of New York sold by Philips of Toronto...
