I'm hoping to get a value & possibly sell a Velvet oil painting by Burke Tyree -1966
I have a large velvet oil painting by artist Burke Tyree. It is titled "Native Back" and he wrote on the top left corner #4 which I believe to be a reference to a series of paintings. Also say's Original oil on velvet - No copies, No duplicates, Burke Tyree, 1966. In addition, there is a personal handwritten note from the artist to the person it was painted for and indicates the painting was done in Maui, Hawaii in 1966. Can anyone help me get a value as I'm interested in selling it. It is a nude back of a woman and is very beautiful. I've seen a number of Mr. Tyree's nudes and I feel this one is more beautiful than the others I've seen.
