Whirlpool gas dryer heat does not stay on
Whirlpool gas dryer starts, the igniter glows, gas is ignited and then the flame goes out and stays off. Vents are not blocked, the flame sensor is new, the thermal fuse is new. The igniter glows through flame ignition and then shuts down (not sure it this is normal) and I'm not sure if the gas is shut off after flame ignition (hard to tell). Any thoughts?

You might test the coil at the gas valve there are two of them. You will want to test the main coil as listed here under the cabinet and the parts catalog image. Number 70 on the parts list the one with 2 terminals. Check for continuity and go from there.

Whirlpool dryer does not heat [ 2 Answers ]

I have a whirlpool (about 5 years old). Two weeks ago, the heat started working intermittently... Now, it does not heat at all... It was suggested it might be the coils on the gas valve? Do others agree? If so, how do I replace them? Where do I get them? Lowe's? Thanks for the help!...

Whirlpool dryer does not heat up. [ 2 Answers ]

Hi, My name is Dave. I am a licsensed plumber, but I know nothing about appliances. My dryer will not heat up when it is running. I am sure it is probably the flame sensor, but I do not know how to get at it. I have a whirlpool model LGR4634JQ2. I took the back off and cleaned the safety sensors...
