What could a grease-like substance be in the filter of GE dishwasher?
My 4 month old GE dishwasher has a grease-like substance ( actually looks like stringy greasy cheese) that is under the filter on the post that you screw the filter over. I went to clean the filter yesterday and found this. I cleaned it all off and then today after running the dishwasher, I unscrewed the screened filter and found the same again. Does anyone know what this could be and how I can fix this. Thanks for you time. I am going to attach a couple pictures. BTW this is definitely not a food substance, because I purposely hand-washed my dishes before running the dishwasher today.Name: DSCN9130.jpg
