What could a grease-like substance be in the filter of GE dishwasher?
My 4 month old GE dishwasher has a grease-like substance ( actually looks like stringy greasy cheese) that is under the filter on the post that you screw the filter over. I went to clean the filter yesterday and found this. I cleaned it all off and then today after running the dishwasher, I unscrewed the screened filter and found the same again. Does anyone know what this could be and how I can fix this. Thanks for you time. I am going to attach a couple pictures. BTW this is definitely not a food substance, because I purposely hand-washed my dishes before running the dishwasher today.

WE have Kenmore Limited Edition Dishwasher and it is not cleaning well at all. We would like to know where the filter is located? When this happened to the other dishwasher that we had we cleaned the filter and that fixed the probleM. We were given this dishwasher and do not have the books on it....
