    Squeaky Dryer
I recently disassembled my GE gas dryer for the purpose of replacing the burner unit coils since my heat wouldn't stay on. After reassembling, the dryer is fine when it runs empty (and heat is back to staying on) but when there is a load of clothes in it squeaks... and the heavier the load the louder the squeak. Any suggestions?

You have a dry center bearing. If it has been scored you will need to replace the bearing. It's about $10.00. You lubricate with white lithium grease. Here are manuals: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8010163/GE%...%20Manuals.zip Make sure to tear down dryer and clean totally. Every piece needs to be removed and cleaned. Lubricate all bearings and change belts.

Squeaky GE Dryer [ 3 Answers ]

My GE dryer makes a terrible high pitch squeaky noise. It does not have a lower front panel to remove and the back panel is tucked under the sides where it wraps around the back of the dryer.
