    Whirlpool refrigerator not cooling
My Whirlpool side by side is about 5 years old. I put it in storage for 9 months and have now put it in my new house. It is running and the lights are on but the inside is warm. It isn't cooling at all. Is there something I should do besides just plugging it in after being in storage? Thank you for any help you could give. Betty

BETTY - if you laid it down while moveing it from storage to your new home then you should leave it unplugged fior about 18 to 24 hours , what happens is when a refrig, is laid down the freeon moves in threw the system and it needs to drain back down to the compressor before restarting it , Thaty one now #2 did you break or crack a line under neath while moveing it and lost freeon , #3 make sure the coils under the bottom are clean and free of lint and dust ; #4 - have you got the settings inside the fridge, set right . #5 - did the fan on the bottom and the one inside the fridge start when it was first plugged in . CHEK EACH ONE OF THESE ITEMS <STARTING WITH #5 and work in reverse ;; GOOD LUCK AND HAVE A NICER DAY TOMORROW AND GOD BLESS :: F.B.E.

Thank you so much for the information. I will give all a try starting with your #5 and working in reverse. Every thing I have read leads me to believe that it is indeed something to do with the move itself rather than storage and I know I have never cleaned the coils or probable not even looked at them so that is a must.

I will let you know how this all come out.

Thank you so much, it is greatly appreciated.

I tried everything as you suggested and it finally kicked in. It has been running fine and maintaining 36 in refrigerator and 0 in freezer. I think I can trust it and have started putting groceries in.

Thank you again for your help.

I have a Whirlpool Imperial refrigerator model: ET20GKXSN00 Mfg: 1988
I know it's old but it has been working fine until 2 days ago. Now it does not run at all. It makes no noise whatsoever. I have power because the interior light comes on. I'm hoping it's something simple like a worn out thermostat or defroster timer etc.
    What's you opinion?

    Whirlpool , model # ET1PHKXPT00

The problem is: ice forming in the gap of the freezer section where the back wall meets the floor of the freezer and water droplets are dripping into refrigerator compartment from the floor of the freezer/ceiling of the refrigerator compartment
