Replacing a fan on a Kenmore Refrigerator
Can anyone guide us in replacing the fan on a Kenmore refrigerator? Do we also need to replace the motor? A Sears repair person indicated that because the fan had not worked properly we should also replace the motor. The refer works good with a small floor fan running behind it.

When he said fan he meant fan and motor. Comes as one unit. Remove the cover, that piece of cardboard down at the bottom of the back. You should see the fan. How to replace should be obvious. Simple task.

Almost overnight my side by side refrigerator stopped cooling and food in the freezer section began to thaw out. I took the back cover off the freezer section and noticed that the fan is not running. The coils in the freezer are about half iced up and only the very bottom of the freezer is cold....
