New washer not filling all the way
I have old plumbing. When you turn on a faucet anywhere in the house, the washer stops filling till you turn it off. Will this affect a new top load washer that senses washer loads. My old washer is a metered float level type.

My washer in the basement fills back up with water after it spins out. The water has just become foul smelling when it returns to the washer. I have already had my septic tank pumped. What else could be the problem?
