    Maytag Washer
Maytag washer model #LAT8006AAE jumps around as if is out of balance, even on small loads. Any idea as to what causes this? It is level. Thanks

If you have leveled the machine, then I would make sure the jam nuts on the legs are tightened up against the bottom of the machine. This will stop the legs from moving over time. Next, you should make sure the tub moves on the pivot dome smoothly by pushing it around; there shouldn't be any knocking or grinding. Sometimes the pivot dome pads fall out and then you're left with metal on metal. If that's OK, then I would make sure you're using the right amount of water for the size of your load. Maytag washers have had this issue for decades because they spin and drain at the same time. If there is too much water for the load size, then the load will bunch up on one side putting it out of balance. If it kicks off on the out of balance mechanism, the clothes seem to redistribute themselves and when you open the lid it looks like everything is fine. If the machine is on a wood floor, that can make it shake also. If you feel the floor moving just standing in front of the washer while it spins, it may be due to a weak subfloor (more common in newer homes than you might think). Good luck, and let me know how it turns out.

The unbalanced load problem on the maytags can be fixed for cheap. They are good machines and I have a kit and instructions that I can provide $40 . It will work great after the fix. You will need only basic tools. Send me an email at [email protected].
