    Maytag dryer not heating properly.
I have a Maytag dryer model # PVE2300, that is not heating properly. It takes several hours to dry a load of clothes. A week ago I replaced the belt, and just recently it stopped heating properly.

I checked the vent hose and it is not clogged. The dryer is problematic in the auto mode as well as timed setting. Any help would be appreciated, thermostat, heating element, etc.

    Thanks,

    Derrick Hamrick

Had the same problem with my dryer (not Maytag ) but it seems the answer might still apply. I replaced the coils -- they control the gas flow -- Took me 5 minutes to replace and about 30 bucks. Good as new now.

    Hi Jimmyboy,

I later found out the problem. Right inside the flex hose on the outside of the house, I found a big wad of lint dust trapped behind the vent door. Cleaned out the dust and it has heated fine. Thanks for getting back to me.

    Take care,

    Derrick
