Kenmore washer won't go into spin cycle unless I open and shut the lid.
I have a Kenmore Washer Series 70, Model # 110.26712693, S# CG3004768. When the washer goes to the spin cycle the motor is running but the tub will not spin until I open and shut the lid. I replaced the lid switch, which didn't help. I replaced the timer and it still doesn't spin until the lid is open and closed.Thinking my new timer might be defective I sent it back and got another one, Still doesn't work.

RE: kenmore 70 series model 110.20712990 Type 111 top load washer. Won't spin. Humming noise and a little burning/hot smell when supposed to be spinning. Bypassing the lid switch did not correct the problem. Changed out the motor coupling with no luck... still a humming noise but no smell.
I have an older Kenmore washer, 70 series. It fills and agitates then quits at the spin cycle, the motor gives a low hum. I by passed the lid switch and it does the same thing. Another question/advice thread mentioned that the drive belt maybe bad, but my model doesn't appear to have a belt at...
The washer works great until the last cycle for that final spin. I can hear the motor going but will not spin to finish the load. Your assistance is appreciated.
There is a broken switch on the underside of my Kenmore washer preventing the spin cycle from working. How hard is this going to be to fix?
