    Kenmore Gas Cooktop Problem
I have a 30" Kenmore model 011.32385890 Serial #ov786652q gas countertop unit that has some sort of ignition problem. When I turn ANY burner on to light you hear and see the ignition spark but will not light for about 15 to 20 seconds. After further investigation I found that the reason it takes so long to light is because the flow of gas doesn't start for 15 to 20 seconds. If you turn the burner on without stopping at the ignition setting and listen you will hear the gas start to come out about 20 seconds later. At this point if you turn the dial to ignition it will light. This happens on all burners. Once you get any burner to light you can turn it on and off with no problem. Also I noticed that the ignition sparks on all 4 burners at the same time, even though you are only trying to ignite one burner.
    Thanks, Craig

That is a manual valve and natural gas should flow right away. Can you smell gas instantly? Are you on propane? Sometimes propane will be slow to flow if the piping is outside and it is very cold since this will reduce the manifold pressure. Have you checked for leaks? Yes, all burners spark. It saves the manufacturers money by only needing 1 spark generator, not 4 or 5.

You gas does not flow instantly, you can actually hear it when it starts and takes about 15 or so seconds. I'm on natural gas and live in Florida and this happens when it's 100F outside. Haven't noticed ay leaks and cooktop has been doing this for many months just can't afford to call someone in to fix. I checked the gas bills and still using the same amount of gas as I did 2 years ago.
    Thanks for the response, Craig

Your gas may not be flowing immediately but it should. Maybe a gas regulator?
