Kenmore Front Load Washer Selector Handle
The selector handle came off my 10-year-old front-load Kenmore washer, model 417.29042991. There were 3 loose "teeth" (about 2 mm square), plus the washer and spring behind the handle, so I'm pretty sure I can't just plunk the part back on.

How involved a repair are we talking about? Is it relatively easy to remove the front panel, buy the parts and put them on? Or should I call a pro in? (We'd pay a maximum of $75 for the repair, given we have a policy in place).

The washer is in excellent condition save for this, and the matching gas dryer works perfectly, so I don't want to consider replacing the appliances themselves.

    Thanks for any advice.
