    Kenmore Elite he3 Dryer
My Kenmore Elite he3 electric dryer does not heat up. The "Check Lint Screen" light stays on even though I have cleaned it, the inside of the dryer, and the vent pipe. Can you tell me how to get my dryer to dry clothes again?

    Thanks

If all venting is very clean I would start testing element and thermostats. Also check for loose connections

The Kenmore HE3 dryer has a manufacturing defect that keeps the lint screen from fully sealing in the duct. This allows a lot of lint to get past the screen and fill up the ductwork. This very quickly reduces the efficiency of the dryer. Worse, the lack of sealing in the ducts themselves inside the dryer allow this lint to escape and be pulled into the heating elements. To fix this, you have to open the bottom duct and fit silicone sealing (weatherstripping) where the bottom of the lint screen fits to properly seal this area. This will keep your ducts clean and keep the dryer running efficiently and safely for a long time.

I have a Kenmore Elite Dryer (electric) that is not heating. I pulled the toe panel so I could clean it out to see if that was the problem. After I cleaned it out I ran a short cycle and still no heat. I also noticed the heating coil did not change. Should these get hot, turn red during a drying...
