Kenmore Elite dish washer modell 665 not draining
The dishwasher is not draining even after I pressed the drain button. Is there a way to look for blockage before I call someone.
    Thank you

I have had the same problem, but let me ask this... do you have a garbage disposal and a double sink like I do in my kitchen ? If so, here's what I do and it solves the water not draining out of the dishwasher (By the way, it also works if no water is coming into your d/w when you first turn it on) ----- Here is what I do, with your d/w off or on, doesn't seems to matter, but take some sort of cover and coverup the drain opening in the bottom of the sink that does not have the disposal attached to it and take a plunger and place it as though you are going to plunge the other drain on the other sink with the garbage disposal attached to the sink, (remember, I am assuming you have two sinks side by side like me with a disposal attached to one of the sinks), and then quickly run water down sink drain with the disposal on that has the disposal attached to it - then
Plunge several times on that drain with the disposal. Of course, you should or someone helping you, should hold the cover down while you are plunging. Then switch the plunger to the drain on the other sink and cover the drain on the sink with disposal attached it and repeat the process - this forces any clogged debris out of the lines. Hope this works for you -- and if confused please let me know.

Many times the drain from the washer to disposal will clogg. Remove drain hose from disposal and check it. Also if you do not have an air gap make sure that the hose rises above the disposal then drops down to the connection on the disposal

Check the electrical connector to the drain motor and make sure that it is locked into place. Mine was not from the factory. So it stopped working (lost electrical connection).

I got tired of the Sear repair men coming and not fixing the drain problem so I decided to look at it myself before I requested a replacement. I took all the drain hoses off and I found a piece of Popsicle stick just after the pump before the check valve. That seemed to fix the problem. The Sears repair man blew it out with compressed air and it seemed to work however the next wash cycle the drain was still clogged. The piece of Popsicle stick must have still been there.

I forgot to upload the picture. I used my pinkie finger to see what was in the elbow with the check valve.

OMG!! I've been on 100 sites and they all mention a "drain/cancel" button. Well, MY model 665 doesn't have one... So either they don't have a 665 or they are nutz. But I finally saw your post, and tried it and it worked! Thank you so much!! You are my hero today!!

My Kenmore dishwasher 665 will not drain and the control panel will not work at all. None of the buttons will light up. I took the drain hose off and the water drained out, but the buttons still will not work. The breaker was not blown.
