    Insinkerator 17 troubleshooting?
My model 17 suddenly started to have metal on metal grinding. I can turn the unit from the top and from the bottom with the wrench and it does spin when engaged. Any advice out there? It was working fine 5 minutes earlier... thanks!

Are you sure you didn't drop anything in it?. I just had a customer of mine drop 2 pennies in theirs. The hammers could have worn out the mounting rivet or the bearing may be bad.

My insinkerator pro-17 problem started with not shutting off when we turned the plug counter clock wise. Then it would shut off, but now it won't start. We noticed the contact switch that use to be inside the unit, is loose out side of the unit. If we push this switch, the unit works but not...

Something is caught in my disposal. I suspect metal. I can barely turn the allen socket under the unit. Is there a way to open the unit or is it sealed? Thanks, David
