Identify control knob purpose on GE THP27PR
Refrigerator - 15 or so year old GE Profile THP27PR. Owned since new. My question pertains to the rotary control, which is located just to the right of the fridge and freezer temp controls. Not sure whether I knew what it was for at one point, or just discovered it now, but there is no knob, and nothing in the instructions that say what it does.
Can anyone clue me in on what that is for? It just seems to turn and turn. I'd rather not fiddle with it w/o knowing what it does, as it may help in fixing the real problem which is this cooling issue on the fridge side. (That problem I might report tomorrow, if I can't fix today!)

    Thanks,
    John
