How do I know if I have washer and dryer hookups
I was wondering if I have the hookups. There is a hole about 4 inches going to the outside. There is a 1 inch pipe that goes to the water heater from the wall

It sounds like you have the basics to have hook-ups... there should also be a cold water pipe. From what you describe - it would not take much to get it going. Is there an "out" drain for the dirty water to go out?

I'm wanting to install a washer and dryer in our utility room. It's where the water heater and furnace are. There are no hookups, but I'm wondering if it's even possible and how expensive it would be.
