    My hotpoint dryer makes sqeaking sound when running what is this and how to fix it ?
    Need to know how to fix dryer its about 5 years old

    Since the dryer is five years old you need to clean it out and lubricate or replace the support rollers with white lithium grease (it is best to replace them), and change the belt. Pull the dryer out to your garage and begin taking it apart, as shown in the videos from the links below. Label all wires you unplug with tape and a Sharpie. You want to remove all of the air ducts and scrape, then wash them out with soap and water. Once you get it all cleaned out, including the blower wheel and housing, and you have vacuumed out the motor, replace the support rollers and lubricate them with white lithium grease. You can find these support rollers at the appliance parts store for about $2-3.00 and it's best to replace these rollers and lubricate with white lithium grease prior to installation. Make sure you clean out the exhaust line and outlet box on side of house. That box can get stopped up with dirt. Here are links for manuals and videos:
