I have a maytag neptune electric dryer. Model # mde5500aym.
The dryer does get warm but doesn't fully dry clothes. Even this incomplete drying takes a much, much longer then usually. I have replace the ducting. There was no cloggs but the ducting smelled and had a small amount of water in it (say about 1 1/2 cup in total).

Do I need to replace the thermostat? How do I put the machine into diagnostic mode? If I need to replace thermostat what is the part number I would need and we can I get instuctions to do this?

    Many Thanks,

My neptune dryer works fine with the acception of the heat, it does not get hot. It has adequate ventilation. What could be the problem?
