Have to hit reset but when GE washer starts the spin cycle
Hi I have a washer (GE) about 3yrs. Old. Just moved into a house that has been rehabbed and I have not any problems prior to other residence. When the washer goes into spin cycle have to hit the GFI reset button. What could be the problem?

There is a short somewhere. The GFI outlet may have the problem in that it cannot take the load of the spin cycle or the washer itself has a short somewhere. Since this is a rehabbed house more than likely the actual wiring could be at fault and a GFI plug was put at the end of a faulty wiring job. Have this professionally checked out before you do your wash and have the wall catch on fire due to too much load on the old wiring. Rehabbed houses can be tricky so don't play around.
