    GE side/side Refridge w/digital temp.select
    I own a GE side by side with digital temp select(touchpads) I cannot get the nos. to stay put!
    They scale from 0-9.I try unplugging to reset and sometime they will stay out,sometime I change the no to say 5 and before my eyes it will go back to 9.. I have had the problem of the frozen water line to the front water dispenser as well.(thats how I found this site)I am very displeased with this GE appliance,owned it since 04.. My first GE refridge(1978) was still running in 06.. What's going on at GE?

    My GE Profile side-by-side also had the water line freeze-up problem. GE service tech said the freezer door had to be replaced due to a broken heating element that prevents the water line from freezing. I have found several other posts on the internet about this problem so it seems to be a basic design flaw and GE will not stand behind their product. It also will make a loud whining noise coming from the freezer side which the service tech said was "normal operational noise". I'll never buy GE again. My matching GE Profile over range microwave broke down three times too. GE has really gone down hill.
