My GE Profile Electric Dryer will not turn on at all
I am looking for some advice on what the problem may be with my GE Profile Electric Dryer Model #DPGT750EC1PL. The unit will not turn on at all.
The unit is getting power because when I open the door the light inside the dryer bin turns on and if I unplug it from the wall it goes off. However, when I press the computerized LCD Panel to turn the unit on I get nothing. I did a load of laundry last night and it dried like normal without any problems. Today nothing?
I was looking online to see if I could order the part and just fix it myself thinking it is the Display ASM - Pwr LCD Part #WE04X10105 but am concerned about spending $250 on this part if it may be something else like the PWB/PCB ASM Main.
If anyone can shed a light or provide assistance or needed advice it would be much appreciated.
Thank you! Kristine Nielsen

I would first check the thermal fuse located on the back side if the blower housing. Unplug unit and disconnect 1 wire from the thermal fuse. If no continuity, replace and unit will run fine. It normally blows because of clogged blower housing or clogged vent hose.

I am having the same problem with the same model # DPGT750EC1PL. When I open the dryer door the light turns on so I know that the dryer is getting power; however, the LCD screen does not turn on at all. Is this a PWB/PCB ASM Main problem?

What is the common problem for this issue? Is it the control board?

I would check voltage going into and out of the Transformer, that converts 120 or 240 volts down to the output voltage. If transformer can be unplugged, Look for resistance on the primary and the secondary.
Good Luck
May also be some board fuses. Many don't look like fuses. Good light and magnification may help reveal.

My 5 year old roper dryer (model: REX4634KQ1) is turning, but not heating and the knob won't turn. Wondering what this may be? All of the lint is cleared out and everything else works fine. Both of these problems happened at the same time. Related or not related?
