My GE electric built-in oven is always warm when it is turned off. Why?
My GE electric built-in oven always keeps a warm temperature when it is turned off. It also has a built-in microwave oven that is not affected. Why would this be? Otherwise, it works just fine. Thank you...

I'm wondering if the oven light is staying on when you close the door. Some ovens don't have a window, so you may not know its staying on. Aside from that, I think the problem could be a heating element shorted, leaving a small piece of an element on with half voltage all the time. The best way to tell is by measuring how much current each heater consumes when the oven is off. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Random guy here--with the same concern. The oven light was exactly the problem on our Kenmore. The front "window" is actually an opaque panel that gives the illusion that the light is turned off. The "on-off" switch is the only way to control it--not the door. It has been on for weeks; thus, a warm oven! Thanks!
