Two common things on your dryer will cause a squeak. The most common thing is worn out front drum support glides. A lot of times the glide get worn through and then the dryer drum starts to ride on the plastic housing which causes a squeak. The other common thing would be the rear drum bearing.

This is what the glides look like on your dryer, it uses two green ones and two white ones.

Dryer squeal [ 4 Answers ]

Every time I start my dryer it squeals for about 3-5 minutes, yet runs normal. It is a very high pitched earpiercing squeal, so loud you can't stand to be in the room with it. I think it's the idler pulley but don't want to order parts until I'm sure. Anybody have any experience with this problem?
