    Gas line & dryer vent pipe - how close is too close?
    I'm rerouting the gas dryer vent piping so that it will inside the adjoining stud wall. At the top of the wall the vertical exhaust pipe will be within an inch or two of the horizontal running copper gas supply line.

    Question - is there a minimum distance that the metal dryer exhaust pipe must be maintained from the copper gas line?

    I hunted for guidelines and just couldn't find any. If someone in the know comes on this, fantastic. If not, I'll share my thought.

    Copper gas line? Copper for residential gas lines are not common. Are you sure it's gas?

    If it's water, you don't have to think about it further. If it's indeed gas, and the dryer vent just passes it in one spot, then I'd get a temperature reading 1-2" outside that vent when the dryer is running - and if it's not too hot, then just insulate both the dryer vent and the gas line in that spot.
