Furnace Fan stays on - Lennox G61MP Series Units
    Hi,
My Furnace fan started this morning and is now on for the whole time. I tried switching off-on the Furnace mains but as soon as I start the furnace again, the fan starts. I have just switched off the home Thermostat that controls the overall heat in the house (its in my passage) and now the fan and the air flow is switched.

Is there any simple trouble shooting? Or do I have to call in someone for service? Any idea how much it costs in Canada?

    Thanks

If the thermostat is in the automatic mode for the fan then it should not run all the time unless the unit itself is heating. If the thermostat fan switch is set to on then the fan will run all the time. It could be you have a stuck relay or another defective component and unless you know what you are doing I suggest calling for professional on site service.

    Hi,
Thanks.. but after my posting, now there is no heat at all.

    - I have tried resetting the thermostat by switching it off and on.
    - Switched on the mains to Furnace and tried to reset that too.
    - changed the filter.

Now I am going to try what I just read on
Home Tips : Furnace Repairs: No Heat

Its Sunday so majority of the technicians will be either closed or will charge exorbitant amount. I guess if can't get it sorted out myself, I will have to call someone in tomorrow.

    Thanks for your reply.

Our touch screen thermostat is very loud when it shuts on and off. I know this is due to the electrical relay but I am wondering if a different model would be quieter.
