    Fridgidare stackable overheats
We have a stackable fridgidare gallery washer/gas dryer. There is something wrong with the dryer portion of this unit (It will dry, but has problems stopping). The heating element tends to stay on at times causing smoke, yikes!

You have a bad thermostatic control switch. The switch should cycle power on and off to maintain a prescribed temp. DO NOT CONTINUE TO USE THIS UNIT UNTIL REPAIREDWhere there is smoke there will be fire.
