I have a GE Select Washer, runs through all the cycles but won't spin, checked the belt, in good condition also checked to see if the motor is locked up, it is not, what could be the problem? Could it be the timing switch?

I just finished a load of wash in my washer. There is debris along the top of the washer Barrel. What could that indicate? The clothes weren't full of debris when I put them in.

My Whirlpool washer goes through to the rinse cycle and then stops. If I turn dial into the rinse cycle zone it then continues. Does it sound like the timer has gone bad?
