Cleaned ice bin & now ice maker doesn't work
I have a Kenmore model 5020*99* side by side. I removed the ice bin to dump out some old ice and to rinse out the bin. After I replaced it, the ice maker stopped working. It had been perfect up until that time. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I hope this isn't a stupid question. Is the wire arm in the "up" position? It moves up when the tray is full.

Not a stupid question at all. No, the arm is down. I think that whatever tells the water to flow into the ice maker isn't working... whatever that might be. Everything appears to be in the correct position, but I must have somehow put it back in incorrectly. The dispenser works fine, so I know that it's in far enough.

Do you have a manual? It might have a trouble shooting section, or a number to call.

Fortunately I do have the manual, but the trouble shooting section didn't help. Guess I'll look for a number to call. I know that if I have a service call it's going to turn out to be something really simple and obvious, so I thought I'd try to figure it out myself before I have someone come out.
Thanks so much for your responses!

If you are sure you have the bin back in properly and the bail is down, check to make sure that you did not bump or move the electrical cord by which the ice maker is plupged in. Because of the cold the cords can get quite stiff and moving it may have caused it to come unplugged.

Thanks, Harold. There's no visible cord, like I remember dislodging from time to time in my old refrigerator, and I know the icemaker is getting power because I tried to jump start it by pouring water into the ice tray and after I did the bail raised & lowered. The icemaker makes funny little noises like it's trying to do something, even when it's turned off.

Could be water fill valve. May just be coincidence that it quit at same time you clean ice bucket.

Ice maker won't work

The ice dispenser on my Kenmore coldspot model 10659702992 stopped working. Then the ice maker itself stopped working. The water dispenser works fine. What is most likely wrong?
