Ceiling fan light kit not working after reinstall
A relative recently moved into a new house and gave us a Hampton Bay ceiling fan with light kit that had been installed in one of their rooms. We reinstalled the fan in our house. The fan works, but when we tried to reattach the light kit, the light did not work. The light kit has two color coded wires running out of it and two special connectors that make it impossible to cross- or miswire to the fan unit.

I tried the obvious and made sure the bulbs were working. There were also no leftover wires from the ceiling to the fan. I tried a conduit tester on the ceiling to fan wires, but it came up cold.

Is there any way to repair this?

Sorry, I meant to say that it's the two wires from the ceiling fan to the light kit that are both cold. The wiring from the ceiling to the fan is working fine. Thanks for any help.
