    Carrier Model 58STA/STX error code
    Went to turn the a/c on last night and there was a code flashing on the thermostat. It is either L6 or upside down 97. Any idea what this code is for?

    You should have a manual that came with the unit to tell you what the codes mean. Many times you can pull the front cover to the furnace and find the book inside the electrical box.

    I had already gone through the manual and that code was not listed. I think it might be for the battery backup and

    Why not check the battery and see if the voltage is low? You should be able to call a dealer and ask someone.

    Thanks for the help, I replaced the battery and the code went away.
