Amana gas dryer PLG8409W2 won't ignite
I have an Amana gas dryer model #PLG8409W2 that won't dry. When I opened the front to look at the heating mechanism, I noted that the igniter will turn on and produce a nice red-orange glow, but it never ignites. It would appear that the gas flow doesn't turn on. Everything else on the dryer seems to be working well. I haven't done anything other than try to turn the gas valve on, and then off again, lest I muck something up by my own efforts. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? Is this likely to be something expensive to fix? I sure hope not.

I have an amana 80 sse and it does not ignite the gas after the click for starting the gas. There is a second click later and I assume that is the gas being turned off since it didn't ignite. Is there anything that I can check before calling the heating guy?
