    Adding a buzzer to a dryer
    I have a GE model DBXR463EB1WW dryer and it does not have an end of cycle buzzer. I was wondering how difficult it would be to add one. I am assuming that the buzzer probably has a hot a neutral and a "trigger" wire going into which is the wire that goes to the tumbler motor. Could I just get a replacement part to another dryer and add it to mine?

    Did you ever figure out how to do this? Just went shopping for dryers and am totally dumbfounded that there is such a thing as a dryer without a buzzer! It couldn't cost the mfg more than $2 to add a buzzer feature. Ridiculous!

    It's easily done, but a pain. A relay coil across the motor would detect whether the motor is running. A contact would then activate a buzzer. The buzzer might end up being low voltage, so you'd need a power supply.

    This has a problem. When the dryer is off the buzzer buzzes. Can't have that.

    Put an on/off switch for the buzzer. You just have to remember to turn the switch on after the dryer is turned on.

    The buzzer ideas:

    a) Buzzer on when dryer is off. Use separate switch to silence/enable buzzer.
    b) Buzzer runs indefinitely until reset after dryer stops. Automatic reset.
    c) Buzzer runs for a specific time after dryer stops. Automatic reset.

    Which is preferred?
