Hello,

What are the steps to replace a schedule D pressure relief switch. My old switch has a manual override lever on it that I think manually restores power to the switch. I was told that I need to drain the tank of all water and turn off the power to the switch. I also heard that I need have 28 pounds of air in my holding tank if I am running a 30/50 switch.

Thanks

Respoding to my original post. The pressure relief swith is a square D, not a schedule D switch.

Thanks

To replace your pump control switch shut the power off to the pump and bleed the pressure down,(no need to drain the tank just open a faucet) and replace with a similar unit.

The correct setting for a bladder tank is 2 pounds under the cut in point so 28PSI would be right for a 30/50 control box.
Good luck, Tom
