Was listening to some of the oral arguments in the SCOTUS Louisiana racial redistricting case . Apparently the unbelievable argument being made is that white Dems still won't vote for minority candidates ;so special carved out racial districts are still needed

Louisiana v. Callais - SCOTUSblog (https://www.scotusblog.com/cases/case-files/louisiana-v-callais/)

Alito suggested that racially polarized voting could easily be identified through statistical analysis, and it could be seen whether White Democrats vote for Black Democrats at a lower rate, for instance.
Nelson told him that White Democrats were not voting for Black candidates — whether they were Democrats or not. She said there was no question that even if there is some correlation, that race was the driving factor.
Supreme Court conservatives appear open to weakening Voting Rights Act in Louisiana congressional map case - CBS News (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme-court-louisiana-congressional-map-arguments-voting-rights-act/)

Apparently there are still Dixiecrats in the ultra socialist liberal progressive Democrats party . I guess they forgot that the emperor won 2 elections that included a majority white vote.

My take is that SCOTUS appears to be willing to weaken Sect 2 of the voting rights act without completely ending it .
