This is something that can be life altering to be honest, and it probably didn't portray your intentions and feelings well by running after you told her. I would be prepared for the let down of her not feeling the same way about you as you do about her. First apologize for laying this on her all of a sudden, and being a chicken about it. Then man up and ask her what she thinks and this should be between the two, with no one else around.
