I don't know what kind of fan mine is, but the reverse switch broke so I cannot run my fan. I see numerous used switches available for purchase but I cannot figure out if it has to be brand specific?

I would say they are take the switch with to a home improvement store and match it up I've do this with chain pull switch which was universal.
