There is no such thing as a "high loop air gap". It is EITHER a high loop or an air gap. See Afaroo's post with diagrams of a high loop system. Ultra simple to install and very efficient.

Hi Greg and welcome to The Plumbing Page at AskMeHelpDesk.com You are responding to a 3 year old dead thread so I gave you one of your own. Please check the date before you post. Thanks,

How do I install a "high loop" air gap? Easy as falling off a log. Simply loop the hose as high as it will go (see image) secure it with an pipe strap or nail and wire and then connect back to a disposal or if you don't have a disposal purchase a branch tailpiece,(see image) and drain it into the sinks drain. Good luck, Tom

It's not very often I disagree with Brian but this is one of those times.
A high loop is a air gap. That's its only function. There are two types of air gaps
1- A high loop air gap **or**
2- A counter top air gap
Since counter top air gaps can fail and high loops can't we only install high loop air gaps in our new installations. Regards, Tom

My bad, I have never referred to them as an air gap, but yes they are. Brian
