Printer is an HP Officejet Pro 8500a

Operating System is Windows 7 Professional Edition 32 bit

Am trying to install this printer but am having driver conflicting issues.

In addition to the above printer, I also have an Epson 4180 flat bed scanner that is up an running

When installing the installation software for the printer, I end up with an error message stating that there is a problem with the driver and cannot complete installation. Please install full version of software. I have done this several times and get the same issue. I have also tried to install the HP driver from the internet and same problem

When installing the driver, after a bit, the Epson scan screen comes up and I can't proceed any farther. I am suspecting that the Epson driver and the HP drivers are in cahoots and I don't know how to get around this dilema. I have disabled the Epson scanner but still have the same problem. Help please?? Do I need to uninstall the Epson scanner? Don't really want to but will if this is the only way.

Try downloading the driver from HP and see if that helps. Be careful to get the one for the operating system you ae usiing.

I finally got it to install last night. I had the correct driver all along. I had to completely uninstall the Epson scanner and every Epson folder I could find and it installed OK. Now I have to figure out how to install the scanner again. Thanks for the reply
