I assume this is an electric forced air. Electric furnaces are composed of several elements. These elements are usually sequenced on by time delay relays. The first element comes on with the fan 10 to 20 seconds after the thermostat is calling for heat and the other elements come on with a further time delay. When no heat is coming out but the fan is coming on, the first and easiest thing to look for is breakers off. Many of these furnaces have more than one breaker. Breakers are usually installed both in the furnace and in the breaker panel. Breakers to be tested should be turned off then back on. Next is burned wires on the controls. These controls are inside the covers of the furnace. A visual inspection will tell you if this the problem. Remember when you are working inside the furnace, there is lethal voltage. Before opening, turn off all breakers! A voltage tester is an excellent investment to be sure. If there are burned wires, replace with stranded wire using terminals from the hardware store. All connections should be very tight! Loose connections will cause overheat of terminals. If all looks OK you probably have sequencer failure or open elements
