Can an trane split 4 ton ac unit be upgraded to a heatpump configuration ?

Sorry guys, but you order the mini splits as either ac, or heat pump from the get go. IF you have straight ac, and want to go heat pump, it just isn't going to work. Im sure it could be done, but the cost of conversion would nearly outweigh the cost of just purchasing a complete new heat pump unit. Not to mention, if you could find someone silly enough to actually try to convert it for you , it would certainly void any warranty you may have on the unit.

I would suggest maybe trying to sell your original mini split, and then purchase a heat pump mini split. This would be your best route.

Of course, if you do find any info on people who have actually converted them, please share their experience with me. I just have never heard of it, or had a manufacturer suggest, or say it was OK. Im always open to new info, so as I said, please do share if you find some for me.
