I am disabled and on Social Security Disablity, I had my leg amputed. Does anyone know of any agencies, etc. that can provide me with some home repairs, I live in Brazoria, County, Texas, which is next door to Houston, Texas.
I live in a Mobile Home and it needs to be leveled and skirting replaced. I just can't afford to do this on my income.
Thank you.

There are no real national programs, there are in come cities, non profit groups that has assistance but it is limited and not always 100 percent free.
Start by checking with the local city admin, check with local charities, and religious groups, also some vet groups if you are a vet

The US Department of Agriculture has a program that will give people over 62 a grant of up to $7,500 for repairs to their home that can be related to health or safety standards. You have to find a USDA Rural Recovery Office near you. Your home does NOT have to be in a rural area to qualify as the name would suggest. We got help for my mom through this program...

Call your local library (reference department) and also the township and county human resources offices. Houston is a pretty organized city, so if you don't get anywhere, post here again to let us know what you did.

Hi, waunda49!
This is in addition to the fine answers that you've already been given. Around where I live, we have a community action agency that helps with things like that. Here's the link to them:
Project NOW (http://www.projectnow.org/)
If you contact them, they might be able to give your information about resources that are available around where you are.
Thanks!
