I have a DELL E510 Dimension Desktop Computer with an XP Professional operating system.
It has a Optiarc DVD+-RWND-3570A (DVD/CD-ROM Drive).
I tried to play a CD in the drive today to no avail but, I got this message:
1. Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the Registry) is incomplete or damaged (CODE 19). What is Code 19?
I went to another computer program called (CD/Reading and Writing Module), to try to repair, and found these issues listed:
1. Device is not working properly (Optiarc DVD+-RWND-3570A) detected!
2. Media in CD/DVD Drive is not readable (Optiarc DVD+- RWND-3570A) detected!
I recently deleted 'Sonic Activation Module' entirely from the computer. And, probably some other stuff that I didn't know about, so don't know if that had anything to do with losing my CD Drive or not.
I do know that I cannot play a CD, DVD, Music or anything because the computer does not recognize the CD Drive.
Now, every time I insert a CD or DVD in the drive, a message for said drive appears telling me to insert a CD, etc. (Which I have already inserted in the drive.) Believe me, it gets very frustrating.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for it? Also you might want to see what the default player is. You should have one but it is possible you don't. Check to see if you have windows media player at least.
