Having a shower and turned the heat setting down to cold... on the rotatory knob... there was a dull bang and water stopped coming from the hose / head but is pouring out of a safety overflow on bottom left corner.
Took shower apart to see if it's anything obvious, checked flow through outlet (short) pipe and through hose. All OK.
Any ideas? Help? Advice?

The problem you highlight would sound to be operation of the PRD - Pressure Relief Device, this is a safety valve fitted to your shower.
Usual causes of operation is usually a blockage at the shower outlet - hose twisted / kinked or blocked shower head or perhaps a surge of pressure passing into the shower unit.
To solve the problem you will need a new PRD which may be ordered directly from Triton Spares Dept(Tel : 0844 980 0750) and also check that there is no restriction to the outlet off the shower to ensure that the new PRD does not operate.
Hope this info helps,

Sorry Gizzmo2...
We don't get to work much with triton shower systems here, but maybe Tritonman will pop back and give you an idea on this so check back every now and then... never know.
Good luck with this...

Tritonman! - Having a new problem with my shower, I'm up here checking for solutions and saw my old posting from July 2010. YES it WAS the PRD valve. I replace it at very little cost... about a fiver I think. All good. Now I have heater element problems... but on way to solving.
