I have a 10 year old Goodman that has R22. I was told by my service man that R22 will be gone soon and he said that he could change out the airhandler and put 410 in. Through surfing thte internet I have found that R22 is plentiful. My question is can my existing unit be changed to 410 and if so does the 410 cool better, same, or worse
Then the R22?

R-22 and R-410A work under different pressures and the oil is also different. I would not consider doing this and I would call in question any one who says they are in the HVAC trade that tells you different. The service person that told you this is ignorant of these facts.
There is plenty of R-22 around and R-22 will be around for many years to come. When it comes time to replace your system then the R-410A will come into the picture since no new R-22 units are being built.
R-22 and R-410A have different chemical propertys. I will keep my R-22 equipment as long as possible because of this fact and a few others.
