Hi. I did a quick search for my problem and couldn't find any answers. I have a Bryant heat pump that is making an intermittent buzzing sound. It sounds like an alarm type of buzz, It sounds kind of like a "let someone into your apartment door buzzer". It only lasts for about a second, and happens about once a minute. This buzz is accompanied by a dimming of the lights in the house. I'm sure it's trying to tell me something. Is it something I can fix myself, or should I call in the pros?
Thanks

Robert what your heat pump is trying to tell you is "Please replace my compressor contactor" The contactor is either worn OR a bug or two got between the contacts at some point when the compressor tried to start. Either way take care of this ASAP! It could get much more costly the longer you let that contactor operate. Eric

I have the same problem but more of a grinding buzz. They are about a minute apart in both heat and cool. I changed the contactor, but no luck. Any other sugestions?
