Hi,
It is a yellow wire that is unplugged and taped off. It will be somewhere at the shift lever be it either hydro or Transmatic. It just grounds out the ignition.
Peace,
Clarke

You should find the wire underneath on the left side near the axle. You should be able to just pop it off and tape it up like crigby said.

Thank you guys VERY MUCH your advice worked... I just mowed for the first time with that mower this weekend and I couldn't stand not being able to mow in reverse without disengaging the pto... thank god I found that wire and unplugged it. And Yes I just tried it outside at 11 pm

What I hate is disengaging the blade. Shifting into reverse. Braking shifting into forward and then re-engaging the blades. All with my right hand which raised havock with my arthritic elbow. I'm going to try to find that wire on my mini-rider, sometimes called compack.
